About Super-Search
  What is it?
asylumlaw.org's Super-Search is a "meta" search engine that is tailored to searching the best sources on the internet for country conditions documentation. A "meta" search engine is one that uses other search engines to find its results.
  How does it work?

In some cases, Super-Search uses other search engines to find its results. For instance, the Refugee Review Tribunal of Australia maintains a database of over 20,000 decisions. Rather than copy their database for searching, Super-Search uses the RRT's own search engine to query the existing database. The top five results from the RRT database are then displayed as results from Super-Search.

In other cases, a search engine is not available for Super-Search to use. For instance, the US State Department does not have a search engine for its human rights reports. In these instances, asylumlaw.org has created its own searchable database for use by Super-Search.

Finally, there are some instances where an existing search engine is either too unreliable or too broad in its scope. Amnesty, for example, has their own search engine for their site. However, we have decided to create our own database that contains only the country reports on their site. For this reason, using Super-Search to search Amnesty material may give you different results than using the search engine on that site.

  How do I limit results?

Use the pull-down menu, , to select the type of search you wish to perform. Do not use quotes, parentheses or any other form of punctuation.
